Our teachers teach a variety of street styles along with choreography which takes inspiration from a combination of styles, learn more about each style below to find out which class you’d like to take.
HIP HOP
Originating in New York City during the 1970s, Hip Hop Dance has deep historical and social roots within African American and Latino communities. Initially evolving as a freestyle dance performed by street crews to the beats of hip hop music, this expressive art form is defined by its energetic movements including Bounces, Rock, Skate, and Roll.
KPOP
Want to learn your favourite dance routines by your favourite K-POP artists? These popular classes focus on the imitation and impersonation of K-POP artist’s dance choreography.
K-POP Choreography typically covers various styles such as Hip-hop, Jazz, and Contemporary.
HOUSE
House dance is a free street and social dance that originated in Chicago in the 1980s in the underground house music scene. This style is known for its unique footwork and body isolations.
CHOREO
Choreo in short for Choreography.
Classes labeled Choreo will vary on style and genre as it depends on the creative choices of the teacher, making each class unique.
HEELS
Yup you guessed it!
This one’s all about dancing - in Heels, Expect Feminine Choreography that will leave you feeling powerfull.
FUNK
Funk, which is a coalition of Disco and Soul, uses a blend of fluid and sharp moves and is usually extremely choreographed. This is a lively dance style that is frequently seen in video clips and nightclubs. It’s a great place to start for new dancers.
WAACKING
Waacking is an extremely expressive, free and musical form of dance that is characterised by arm movements and posing with a strong emphasis on musicality and improvised performance.
KRUMPING
This street dance style was first popularised in the US, Krumping is characterised by free, expressive, exaggerated, and highly energetic movement.Isolating body parts so that one body part is rigid, whilst the other is Swinging, Stomping, or Popping.
LOCKING
Locking is a fun and funky style of dance that was developed in Los Angeles in the late 1960s. It is characterised by a combination of fast movements and freezing in improvisational positions for a short time, and then continuing the movements at the same speed.
